It's like finding a major error in a spreadsheet, it makes you doubt the rest of it.. In order to get the most out of this book, the pianist should be facile with shell and three-note left-hand chord voicings and have some familiarity with chord and scale (or mode) theory. E.G. The determined and headstrong main character along with the unique theme had me riveted until the last page.. Would be my main reference for my musical studies.. There's no ego either, except when he talks about how it was detrimental to his life. If you suffer from mental illness--or are a caregiver for someone who does--perhaps the biggest gift of this book is that you will come away from the read feeling less alone. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in the abolitionist movement leading up to the Civil War and/or if you're just interested in heroes of the faith.
